When it snows, the first thing most people seem to do is rush out to the shops in a mad panic. Buying as much milk and bread that they can possibly cram into their cupboards. Shopping is the last thing on my mind at the best of times, so I wasn't about to join the masses on this occasion.
I chose instead to take a gently stroll down to the canal. It was glorious! There wasn't a soul to be seen, just me and the odd passer by... of the fluffy variety.
So the next time life feels gloomy, instead of panicking and rushing around, why not head for the canal. Breathe in the fresh air, admire the surroundings, it may even leave you with a smile on your face.
Sprotbrough canal is for all seasons, not just for the Summer.
